Peil Ghaelach

The 2014/15 season was the most successful year in Gaelcholáiste Chomáin’s footballing history. Gaelcholáiste Chomáin claimed their first Senior County title when they won the Senior D Flanagan Cup in November of 2014 by defeating the holders St. Tiernan’s College, Crossmolina by 2-07 to 1-07 on a wintery day in Bangor. The team had defeated Coláiste Phobail Ácla and St Patricks College Lacken Cross on their path to the final and the momentous achievement was celebrated and heralded by both the GAA community in the area and throughout the county.

That fantastic achievement was then backed up when the Under 16 team claimed the Connacht D Junior League after winning their 3 group games on a Blitz day in Ballyhaunis and then returning to the Connacht Centre of Excellence in November to defeated Roscommon CBS in an exciting final.

Gaelcholáiste Chomáin will compete at every age group in the school year 2015/16 and will be hoping that they can build on the impressive progress and success they had last year.
